Noah’s Ark (1999) – Many story mistakes and poor special effects, but still great
by admin on Feb.05, 2009, under Uncategorized
Ok, the 1999 film/mini-series “Noah’s Ark” – a film version of two famous stories from the Bible; Sodom and Gomorrah, and the building of Noah’s Ark – is great, in spite where it fails incredibly. A perfect blend of comedy and… what to call it? Action?
But there are unfortunately lots of mistakes, or changes from the original text – the Bible. The most obvious one is that Noah according to the film is in the story about Sodom and Gomorrah, which he is not. The Biblical person who has the role Noah has in the film is Abraham. George Carlin is a pretty good comedian, and even though this clip isn’t the funniest in the world, he really knows how to put the one simple fact: there is not one fact nor reason of there being a god. I don’t see why there would be a god. In 1982, Monty Python filmed a concert performed at the Hollywood Bowl, a concert with a perfect mix of their most famous sketches as well as new material written especially for the concert. It’s a show with some of my absolute favorite sketches, including the Lumberjack Song, the Ministry of Silly Walks and Nudge Nudge, and some great new ones as well, for example the Crunchy Frog sketch, How Sweet to Be an Idiot and Comedy Lecture. The only thing avoiding it to receive 10 stars instead of eight is the non-includance of the Dirty Fork sketch and that it’s so damn short, 01:17 h.

The Twilight Zone

I have heard a lot of the original “The Twilight Zone” series, running from 1959 – 1964, and I finally downloaded it entirely (24,1 GB, gah) yesterday and watched the first episode (“Where is Everybody”), and it was great.

Quote of the Day #2

Futurama is highly underrated and it’s a shame they were cancelled after only four seasons.
“Hey, isn’t this food a bit salty?”
“Don’t worry, I kept it 10 % under the lethal dose.”
“Oh no, I shouldn’t have eaten that 10 % salt for brunch… “
